We are originally four medical students attending the University of Utah School of Medicine. We love Anki, but found it very difficult to use at first. We originally made a few videos to help our classmates and eventually decided to keep making tutorials so we could share with all Anki users worldwide. Many of us are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and all of us believe that serving others is what brings true happiness. We hope you enjoy everything we have put together for you!

Nick & Meg

Nick graduated from BYU with a degree in Neuroscience after serving a 2 year proselyting mission in Taiwan. He still loves to study Mandarin Chinese in addition to playing Super Smash Bros, swing dancing and traveling. He's the voice of most of the AnKing YouTube videos :)

Meghan (the AnQueen) graduated from BYU with a degree in Physical Education. She loves outdoor adventures, ice cream and the beach.

We met on a trip in Israel because we both love to travel the world!

Meghan and Nick recently welcomed a baby girl, Sandi, into their family.

Blake & Lisa

Prior to medical school at the University of Utah, Blake graduated from BYU with a degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Spanish. After medical school, he plans to pursue vascular surgery. Beyond education and career goals, he enjoys long-distance running, listening to music, and collecting pocket knives. However, the greatest joy in his life is being a father. He loves his little girls, Jane and Hazel!

Lisa graduated from the BYU nursing program and currently works at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital. She is planning on continuing her education to become a nurse practitioner in midwifery and women’s health. She enjoys long-distance running, lifting, crafts, anything outdoors, and all things brith-related. She strives to set an example for her two daughters of what strong women can achieve.

I have a degree in neuroscience from BYU and am currently studying at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Following school I plan to pursue a career in electrophysiology. A fun fact about me is that I have traveled to 35 of the 50 US states and 15 countries. I love to travel!

Forrest & Olivia

Forrest is currently a University of Utah medical student planning to pursue residency in neurosurgery. He graduated in neuroscience from Brigham Young University in 2018. As a San Diego native, he loves surfing, mountain biking, and fly fishing. An interesting fact is that he and Olivia helped start a non-profit that began in Mozambique called HealthLink Cooperative!

Olivia graduated from UVU in communications, works at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital in the hematology and oncology clinic. She loves cooking, working out, hiking, and spending time with Forrest. They are both excited about welcoming a new baby girl into the family!

For my undergraduate degree, I attended Utah Valley University where I received my Bachelors in Biology and also met my wonderful wife. I was blessed with the opportunity to attend Rocky Vista University in St. George, Utah. I initially wanted to attend medical school due to my desire to understand and learn Anesthesia, which I am still highly interested in; however, the CiM assessments have also opened my eyes to EM and ENT. Fun fact: I have been attacked by a shark before ๐Ÿฆˆ

Before starting medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (McGovern Medical School), I graduated from Brigham Young University in 2019 with a degree in Biochemistry. My interests in medicine lie primarily in the field of cancer care and I intend to pursue a position in a radiation oncology residency program. When I am not studying or doing research I love to play my cello, spend time in the outdoors, and play board/card games with my wife and family.

Hey everyone I'm Logan. I'm excited to be a new member of the Anking team; they've pretty much saved my medical school bacon up to this point, so I'm happy to do a bit to return the favor.  I completed my undergrad in Human Biology at BYU-Idaho, and am currently at UUSOM. I change my mind about specialty depending on the most recent physician I've interacted with, but at the moment I'm interested in Family Medicine.  Just a little bit about me: I am married to my high school "friend zone" and we have two kids. I really like to fish and I enjoy a good slice of yellow cake with chocolate frosting every now and then (or everyday).

I’m a research software engineer working on microbiome data science software for the Pathogen Microbiome Institute at Northern Arizona University in beautiful Flagstaff, Arizona ๐Ÿงฌ.  I previously provided technical support to Fluent Forever Anki users and have used Anki extensively to study pre-med, music, computer science, and Dutch.  As a former AFS exchange student, I’ve spent nearly two years living abroad in the Netherlands .  I’m interested in contemplative practices, effective altruism, and am currently developing a unique mnemonic system . Working with the AnKing team has inspired me to consider going back to school to pursue an education in traditional osteopathy ๐Ÿฅผ

I'm Daniel, a medical student at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. I graducated from the University of Tenessee with a degree in Chemical Engineering. I love problem solving, especially in the context of medicine. Over the years I've worked in several roles developing software for clinicians, researchers, and engineers alike. In my spare time I enjoy weightlifting, hiking and working on home improvement projects.

Hello! My name is Yoonchae, and you may know me as BlueGreenMagick. I'm an undergraduate student at Seoul National University planning to major in Computer Science. I'm interested in human cognition and machine learning. I love trying out and learning new things. I've developed several add-ons and made contributions to Anki. I'm excited to work with the AnKing team!

My name is Henrik, and I'm a software engineer from Hesse, Germany. In 2020 I graduated Hochschule Frankfurt with a degree in Computer Science. I enjoy all nerdy things from video games to movies and books, as wells as hacking away at code. I am a top contributor to Anki on GitHub, and also develop my own add-ons. If you ever see an avatar of a rabbit in the Anki sphere, that might just be me.

Hello! My name is Jakub and I'm a computer science student at the technical university of Vienna. I'm creating add-ons for Anki and use it myself for my studies, but also to learn various other things for example Russian and cyber security. I like programming, running and strategy games.

Hello! My name is Guillem Palau Salva. My first name is William in English language. My last name is Palau, can you guess the meaning? Palace!  I'm a PhD student in Biomedicine from Barcelona, Spain. I have been using Anki since 2009 and contributing to the project since 2016. I am an avid learner. I used Anki to learn a broad range of topics, particularly for my formal college studies and Japanese language. I’d be thrilled to contribute with all the wisdom I accumulated across the years about Anki, mnemonics and efficient learning methods which are not that intuitive.

Hey everyone, My name is Abdulla! I’m a third year student in Virginia, currently doing rotations. Before med school, I got my biology degree from UVA, and I took 2 gap years to work as a scribe. During my gap years, I did a lot of stand-up comedy and even hosted my own show. Beyond medicine, I’m very passionate about beatboxing, which I have been doing for almost 10 years. I’ve traveled to a few beatbox battles around the country and even competed once! I love to help other students when I can, and I’m excited to be a part of the team

Hi! My name is Matt and I’m from Salzburg, Austria. I pursued a bachelor’s degree in software engineering before I decided to start studying medicine at MedUni Vienna. Back then, Anki played a major role in my preparation for the entrance exam and I’ve been obsessed with that piece of software ever since. When I’m not hacking away on Anki note templates or trying to help out in the forum, I like to engage in various sports: kickboxing, skiing and paragliding are some of my favorites. I’m very excited to help spread the love for Anki to a broader audience over the coming years!

๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ Hi everybody, I’m David! I’m a med student about to begin my third year rotations in Arkansas. During undergrad I initially pursued computer science, but ended up falling in love with exercise science and earning my bachelors degree from BYU.
Outside of medicine, I dedicate a lot of my time towards trying to embarrass my kids at their soccer games #number1fan๐Ÿ˜† I also enjoy playing basketball, disc golf, hiking and cycling ๐Ÿšด๐Ÿฝ‍โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’จ.
I’m really excited to be helping other students and to contribute to this incredible community!

Hi I’m Megan! I’m from Seattle. I got my undergrad degree at USC in Human Biology with minors in Global Health and Health Care Studies. I took a gap year to work as a scribe and I am now an M2 at Saint Louis University.
