OUR HISTORY
We are originally four medical students attending the University of Utah School of Medicine. We love Anki, but found it very difficult to use at first. We originally made a few videos to help our classmates and eventually decided to keep making tutorials so we could share with all Anki users worldwide. Many of us are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and all of us believe that serving others is what brings true happiness. We hope you enjoy everything we have put together for you!
Nick & Meg

Nick graduated from BYU with a degree in Neuroscience after serving a 2 year proselyting mission in Taiwan. He still loves to study Mandarin Chinese in addition to playing Super Smash Bros, swing dancing and traveling. He's the voice of most of the AnKing YouTube videos :) He is completing residency in Dermatology.
Meghan (the AnQueen) graduated from BYU with a degree in Physical Education. She loves outdoor adventures, ice cream and the beach.
We met on a trip in Israel because we both love to travel the world! Meghan and Nick now have two cute kids, Sandi and David.

Blake & Lisa

Prior to medical school at the University of Utah, Blake graduated from BYU with a degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Spanish. After medical school, he plans to pursue Vascular Surgery. Beyond education and career goals, he enjoys running, listening to music, and collecting pocket knives. However, the greatest joy in his life is being a father. He loves his little girls, Jane, Hazel and Mae!
Lisa graduated from the BYU Nursing program and currently works in women's health. She is planning on continuing her education to become a Nurse Practitioner in Midwifery. She enjoys exercise, crafts, anything outdoors, and all things brith-related. She strives to set an example for her three daughters of what strong women can achieve.

Tyson

Tyson graduated from Brigham Young University in 2018 with a degree in Neuroscience and completed his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Utah in 2022. While at BYU, Tyson stepped away from his education to serve a two-year proselytizing mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in northeastern Argentina. While there he gained a love for serving others and for the Spanish language. Beyond his educational background and religious beliefs, Tyson is a major sports fanatic, enjoys Marvel and Star Wars movies, takes any excuse to travel, and is always down to talk about Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere.
Tyson is completing his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California - Irvine with plans to pursue advanced fellowship training in Cardiovascular Disease and Cardiac Electrophysiology.

Forrest is pursuing a Neurosurgery residency at the University of Utah. He graduated in Neuroscience from Brigham Young University in 2018. As a San Diego native, he loves surfing, mountain biking, and fly fishing. An interesting fact is that he and Olivia helped start a non-profit that began in Mozambique called HealthLink Cooperative!
Olivia graduated from UVU in Communications, and now works as a full-time mom. She loves cooking, working out, hiking, and spending time with Forrest. They love spending time with their daughters, Penelope and Blair!

I attended Utah Valley University where I received my Bachelors in Biology and also met my wonderful wife. I was blessed with the opportunity to attend Rocky Vista University in St. George, Utah. My decision to attend medical school was driven by my desire to understand, learn, and master anesthesia. Fun fact about me: I have been attacked by a shark before 🦈

Before starting medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (McGovern Medical School), I graduated from Brigham Young University in 2019 with a degree in Biochemistry. My interests in medicine lie primarily in the field of cancer care and I intend to pursue a position in a radiation oncology residency program. When I am not studying or doing research I love to play my cello, spend time in the outdoors, and play board/card games with my wife and family.

I’ve had an intense interest in both medicine and education technology for the past eight years since discovering Anki and flirting with the idea of going to medical school. I am currently a software engineer working in healthcare technology and am reconsidering medical school after feeling inspired again from my experience starting Anki Palace and AnkiHub. I previously provided technical support to Fluent Forever Anki users and have used Anki extensively to study pre-med, music, computer science, and Dutch. I am extremely excited about the potential of education technology to improve the lives of students all around the world!

Hey everyone, My name is Abdulla! I’m currently a PGY-1 Med/Peds resident. 👋🏼 Hi everybody, I’m David! I’m a med student about to begin my third year rotations in Arkansas. During undergrad I initially pursued computer science, but ended up falling in love with exercise science and earning my bachelors degree from BYU.
Outside of medicine, I dedicate a lot of my time towards trying to embarrass my kids at their soccer games #number1fan😆 I also enjoy playing basketball, disc golf, hiking and cycling 🚴🏽♂️💨.

Hey everyone, I’m Marissa! I personally could not survive medical school without Anki and I am excited to help work on the AnKing social media team in order to teach other students about Anki and share tips and tricks. Hello, everyone. I'm Luís, a third-year med student at UNICAMP, in Brazil. I'm passionate about computer science and educational psychology, with a special interest in spacing effect and active recall, the foundations of our beloved Anki. During the last few years, I have acquired a lot of experience with the software, and I even had the opportunity to teach an extension course at my university about it.
I really enjoy studying philosophy and mythology, that's why I created a YouTube channel about those subjects. I ended up gaining a lot of background in graphic design and audiovisual editing, one of my jobs around here! Besides that, I love sculpting, watching anime, and learning languages.

Hello! I am Trish the Fish! I am originally from Alexandria VA and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2018 with a degree in Biology. While in Undergrad I was blessed with the opportunity to study abroad in Antarctica and assist in research looking at the bird penguin populations. I am currently an OMS3 at VCOM, where I met my handsome boyfriend Christian. We are currently living in Abingdon VA completing our core rotations. Hi friends, I'm Taylor! I'm currently a second-year medical student at Albany Medical College. I'm from upstate New York, and I graduated from UAlbany in 2016 & again in 2019. I then moved to DC where I completed the Georgetown SMP (go physios!). While at Georgetown, I met my extraordinary partner, Jenny, who is also a second-year medical student. Hello! I'm a computer science student from Syria. I discovered Anki back in 2017 when I decided to learn English on my own, and it gradually took over my life. You may know me from the Anki forums, as I'm one of the most active users there.
